“Taya…is so patient and kind. A real specialty she has is knowing how to break through their frustrations in a way that helped them accept that learning can be hard at times, but it can overcome so that they could continue to play and be proud of their progress”

“My 5-year-old absolutely loves this piano class and eagerly looks forward to it each week. Teacher Taya does an amazing job of helping her students feel confident while learning notes and keys in a fun and engaging way. The pace is perfect for a first-time learner…Teacher Taya also has a beautiful voice, a warm and inviting smile, and truly makes learning the piano exciting. I highly recommend her class!”

I love sharing the classical music fundamentals I studied as a child just as much as I love teaching video game music, pop songs, and improvisation. I motivate my students with a sense of fun and enthusiasm for music.
I playfully teach music fundamentals, improvisation, and piano performance skills. My students learn about deep focus, confidence, positive self-talk, and using a growth mindset that will help them succeed in the world.
My background includes a degree in Music Therapy from Marylhurst University, scholarships in classical piano from the College of St. Catherine, playing in rock bands and jazz ensembles, composing piano scores for musicals, singing folk music and playing the washboard in a jug band.
